Tools and Methods in The Chemical/Chemistry Laboratory

Hi guys, stay with me yaaaa J
Here, I want to share about the function of some tools in the chemistry laboratory…

Let me do it J

“Beaker glass”
Beakers hold and heat solution that will not release gases when reacted.
“Beaker tongue”
Used to hold and move beaker containing hot liquids.
“Erlenmeyer flask”
Same like a “beaker glass” , but for may release gases during a reaction.
“Florence flask”
Used for the mixing of chemicals or solution.
“Graduated cylinder”
Used to measure volumes of liquids.
“Watch glass”
As a place of solids to be weight.
“Litmus paper”
Used to identify acids or bases.
“Dropper pipet”
Use to transfer a small volume liquid.
“Graduated pipet”
Same like  “Dropper pipet” , but has exact volumes.
“Funnel”
Used to aid in the transfer of liquids from one vessel to another.
“Electronic Balance”
            Used to weight the solids.
“Scoopula”
Used to dispense solid from ther containers.
“Burner”
Used for heating liquids and solids.
“Fume hood”
Is an exhaust fan for smelly or dangerous fumes.
“Crucible and cover”
Are used for heating certain solids, particularly metals to very high temperatures.
“Wash bottle”
As a place of distilled water (aquadest).

For the next, there are some methods and process in the chemical laboratory.

“Distillation”
Is a widely used method for separating mixtures based on differences in the conditions required to change the phase of components of the mixture.

“Decanting”
Decanting is a chemical laboratory process used to separate mixtures.
“Fermentation”
Is a metabolic process in which an organism corverts a carbohydrate, such as starch or a sugar into an alcohol or an acid.

“Titration”

Is a technique used in analytical chemistry to determine the concentration of an unknown acid or base.
